Single rooms are available for a supplement
Fly to Edinburgh, meet your Tour Manager and head to the bustling Highland resort of Pitlochry. Explore the town before we continue to the Victorian spa-resort of Strathpeffer. Check in to your hotel, then spend the rest of the day exploring the town, perhaps visiting the Highland Museum of Childhood and the many craft shops, before dinner at your hotel.
During today's tour of beautiful Wester Ross, we'll visit the fishing port of Gairloch, with its busy harbour and Heritage Museum, and the loch-side gardens of Inverewe (entrance payable locally). Follow the garden's winding walks and be enchanted by the kaleidoscope of exotic plants, nurtured by the warm currents of the Gulf. We journey back, past Loch Ewe and spectacular Gruinard Bay, to your hotel for dinner.
The fairytale Dunrobin Castle (entrance payable locally) is our destination today. Explore the castle, which dates back to the 1300s, and walk through the magnificent gardens - modelled on Versailles - which are laid out on terraces descending to the sea. We'll return you to your hotel for dinner, stopping en route at the historic town of Dornoch.
Today we ride the train from Dingwall to the Kyle of Lochalsh, a trip featured in Michael Palin's 'Great Railways of the World', en route to the beautiful Isle of Skye.
Explore the town of Portree, with its delightful white- and colour-washed buildings set around the harbour. Legend has it that the Royal Hotel stands on the site of an old inn in which Bonnie Prince Charlie bade farewell to Flora McDonald, before fleeing to France. You'll return to your hotel in time for dinner.
Return to Edinburgh to board your flight home. Depending on the time of your flight, there may be time to explore this beautiful city before heading to the airport.
Please note that disabled access to Dunrobin Castle is limited.
Depending on the departure day of your holiday, it may be necessary to operate the itinerary in a different order.
