Itinerary

Day One

Leaving the local area in the early morning we'll head north through the spectacular Yorkshire Dales. After checking into your hotel, the rest of the evening is free for you to enjoy.

Day Two

Today we'll visit the beautiful city of Edinburgh. During the afternoon we'll head to Ocean Terminal - Edinburgh's exciting new shopping and leisure complex - to visit The Royal Yacht Britannia.

Rooms on view aboard Britannia range from the Queen's bedroom and the Veranda Room, where The Queen used to enjoy breakfast, to the engine room, the galley and the officers' ward room. And your visit is sure to provide a unique insight into the history of this very special ship.

In the early evening we'll head to the esplanade of Edinburgh Castle for the Military Tattoo - the highlight of our visit - for a fantastic evening of music, pomp and pageantry, which ends with the spectacle of the lone piper patrolling the battlements, silhouetted against the night sky. We'll leave Edinburgh around 10.00pm, arriving back at the hotel for a good night's sleep.

Day Three

We begin our homeward journey today. Travelling south, we'll visit vibrant, historic York. After time to visit the glorious Minster, walk the city walls, explore the Railway Museum and celebrated Jorvik Centre, and have lunch, we'll restart our journey home, arriving in the local area by mid to late evening.
