Itinerary

Day One

Fly to Edinburgh to meet our Tour Manager. Marvel at the beautiful scenery as we head to the Isle of Skye, stopping en route in Pitlochry and at famous Eilean Donan Castle, before reaching the hotel. After check in, you'll have time to relax before dinner this evening.

Day Two

After breakfast, we'll visit Portree, passing the famous peaks of the Cullin Mountains. Admire the dramatic scenery and delightful white and colour-washed buildings around the harbour, browse the shops, and find out about the local environment at the town's exhibition.

We'll continue to Dunvegan Castle where you can discover its fascinating history through the rooms' many treasures, and wander the beautiful formal gardens, hidden amid the surrounding moorland and mountains.

Day Three

Today we make the ferry crossing from Uig to Tarbet on the Isle of Harris, before continuing by coach to Stornoway on the Isle of Lewis, where we'll check into the hotel.

This afternoon we'll explore the rugged moorland and beaches of Lewis. Visit the reconstructed Black House at Arnol, inhabited until 1965 (entrance payable locally), before we continue down the western side of the island, to the well-preserved Carloway Broch – a circular, dry-stone, 2,000-year-old fortified tower. Finally, we'll visit the Standing Stones of Callanish - the most dramatic of the Western Isles' monuments.

Day Four

Today it's off to explore the Isle of Harris. Discover the island's rare beauty and diverse flora and fauna, and marvel at its beautiful scenery – from the high mountains and rocky coastline in the east, to its western shoreline of unspoilt beaches, washed by the Atlantic waves.

Day Five

Enjoy a final morning in the Western Isles. Relax in the hotel, wander the stunning Castle Grounds, head into Stornoway for some souvenirs, or perhaps visit the town's museum for a fascinating insight into the history of the Islands. In the early afternoon, we'll make the crossing to Ullapool before a wonderfully scenic journey through Wester Ross, to the seaside resort of Nairn, where we'll spend our final night.

Day Six

We leave the Highlands after breakfast and head back to Edinburgh Airport, after what promises to have been a wonderful few days. Depending on your flight time, there may be time to explore Edinburgh before checking in for your flight.
